The 2020 Ultimate Cup Series’ third race held in Magny-Cours (France) couldn’t have been more satisfactory for Team Virage and its LMP3 #88 driven by Cristova, Wagg and Ghiretti.

Our LMP3 #88 broke all records : P1 in Free Practice and Night Practice on Friday; Pole Position with the new Magny Cours LMP3 track record (1:32.360); and the very best : the victory with fastest race lap in Saturday night’s race, one lap ahead of the closest competitor.

Team Virage’s prototype Ligier JSP320 driven by the Portuguese Miguel Cristovao, the Swiss-American Julian Wagg and the French Alessandro Ghiretti achieved a new victory at Magny Cours after 4 hours and 142 laps. Despite a drive-through in the first stages of the race, the #88 managed to adapt perfectly its strategy to an early Safety-Car period in order to get its second victory in three races, extending its leadership in the European championship.

Alessandro Ghiretti’s performance deserves a special mention. The young French driver from Montauban was the fastest all over the week-end, and received the Auto-Hebdo prize, given to the driver with the most impressionant performance. With Miguel Cristovao’s experience and Julian Wagg’s strength, Ghiretti completes a trio of aces who makes real every single race Team Virage’s motto: #VictoryAttitude.
