Spaniard Philippe Valenza and Hungarian Robert Hefler, Team Virage’s two drivers on the Aston Martin Vantage #77, have climbed on the GT Cup Open Europe podium twice so far, in the Hungaroring and in Paul Ricard.
While Valenza starts his third consecutive year with us, Hefler discovered Team Virage in mid-July during a test in Motorland, where his positive results allowed him to become part of the Aston Martin Academy for this season 2020.
Our Aston Martin #77 driven by Hefler and Valenza ended P5 in GT Cup Open’s second race celebrated August 9th at Budapest, reaching the 3rd place in the PRO-AM ranking. The other Aston Martin, the number #88 driven by Stéphane Adler and Michael Blanchemain, ended P8 after a collision during the run and a magnificient battle against the Audi and the BMW.
Hefler and Valenza repeated their good results at the Paul Ricard race a few weeks later. Team Virage’s two young drivers achieved a more than deserved P2 after starting from P5. A faultess driving from both, added to a brilliant stategy and great driver change were the key to this new Team Virage success in GT Cup Open Europe this new season.
