Team Virage had an exhilarating and fully packed Sunday at Le Mans, with all sessions, practice, qualifying, and race compressed into one action-packed day. The drivers showcased their skills on the iconic track, resulting in a day of thrilling competition and impressive finishes.
The day started strong for the team during practice and qualifying. The #66 car, driven by Jeronimo Berrio and Pedro Moreno secured P2, closely followed by the #1, with Theo Micouris and Haydn Chance car in P3. The #32 car, driven by the D’Amato brothers, Jacopo and Umberto, also showed a competitive performance, placing P9 on the grid ahead of the race.
The race itself was filled with intense battles across the legendary Le Mans track. A group of five cars, including the #66 and #1 from Team Virage, fought for the lead throughout the race. In a nail-biting finish, the #66 car managed to clinch the lead and secure the win in the last laps. This victory marks the first time Berrio and Moreno have been on the top step of the podium this season, and Virage’s fourth win in Le Mans Heat in as many participations.
The #1 car battled fiercely within the lead group and finished in P4. Meanwhile, the #32 car, showed good pace and concluded the race in P8.
Team Virage now looks forward to the next challenge. Although we will have to wait until the end of August for our JSP4 cars to race again, we are excited to compete on another mythical track: Spa-Francorchamps!
