Team Virage delivered an outstanding performance at Mugello during the penultimate round of the Ligier European Series, showcasing their strength in both races. The weekend was marked by intense competition and challenging weather conditions, but the team rose to the occasion, securing two podium finishes and a victory.

Friday’s sessions were action-packed, with rapidly changing weather making practice and qualifying particularly challenging for the drivers. The #1 car, driven by Haydn Chance and Theo Micouris, showed strong pace in practice, finishing P1 and P3 in the two sessions. Qualifying, however, saw a shift as wet conditions took hold, resulting in the pair starting Saturday’s races from P7 and P3. The #66 car, with Jeronimo Berrio and Pedro Juan Moreno behind the wheel, also showed promising speed, achieving a best practice finish of P3. Their consistent performance carried through to qualifying, where they secured P4 on the grid. Meanwhile, the D’Amato brothers in the #32 car were building their momentum, finishing P8 and P7 in practice, Jacopo grabbing P5 in qualifying, and Umberto placing P8.

Saturday’s race day brought excitement and drama to Mugello as the Ligier European Series competitors lined up for two highly anticipated races. In Race 1, the #66 car had a strong start, running within the front pack and crossing the line in 2nd position before a post-race penalty placed them P4. The #1 car capitalized on the chaos, fighting their way up to P2. The #32 car pushed hard through the field, finishing P8.

Race 2 showcased Team Virage’s dominance on the track. Starting from P4, Moreno and Berrio in the #66 car quickly made their way through the field, chasing the sister #1 car in the lead. A thrilling battle ensued between the two Virage entries, with Chance and Micouris holding the lead in the #1 car for most of the race. However, in the final stages, the #66 car overtook them just before the checkered flag, securing a well-deserved win. The D’Amato brothers in the #32 car improved their racecraft in Race 2, finishing a solid P6 after fighting in the midfield.

The weekend’s results keep the #1 car in the lead of the championship, setting up a thrilling finale in Portimão as the team continues its push for the title.
