The team kicked off the week-end at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps with a strong showing in the Ligier European Series. Friday’s action saw intense competition in Free Practice 1 and 2. The #1 of Micouris/Chance and #66 of Berrio/Moreno demonstrated impressive pace, topping the timesheets by the end of FP2. The #32 car, driven by the D’Amato brothers, Jacopo and Umberto, secured P8 in the session.
Qualifying was a thrilling affair. In Qualy 1, Haydn Chance took the #1 car to the front row, securing P2 for the first race, while Pedro Juan Moreno in the #66 car followed closely in P5. Qualy 2 ramped up the intensity further, with a fierce battle for pole between Theo Micouris and Jeronimo Berrio. Ultimately, the #66 car with Berrio claimed pole position, with the #1 car locking in P2 for the second race. The D’Amato brothers secured P8 and P11 for Saturday’s races.
Saturday’s race day brought a mix of triumphs and challenges in the Belgian heat. In Race 1, misfortune struck early for the #1 car, which was spun around at the first corner of the opening lap. Meanwhile, the #66 car fought hard throughout the race, securing a strong P2 finish for Berrio and Moreno.
Race 2 proved to be just as dramatic, with multiple safety cars and incidents creating a challenging environment for all three Virage JSP4 cars. Despite the difficulties, the #1 car, driven by Theo Micouris and Haydn Chance, persevered and crossed the line in P2, earning another podium finish for Team Virage. The #32 car also made the most of the tricky conditions, finishing in a respectable P6.
With the Spa round completed, the team shifts focus to the fifth round of the season at the scenic Mugello circuit.
