Team Virage has completed its pre-season testing programme on the Motorland Aragon and Navarra tracks in Spain.
Nine drivers from seven countries completed a total of 2,350 kms. While Team Virage regulars Henning Enqvist, Tomasz Blicharski and Stefan Romecki shared the Racing for Poland car, several newcomers were driving the second Ligier JSP3.
Ex-Lotus Formula One test driver Alex Fontana and F3 driver Javier Cobian took part at the Navarra test, while Julien Falchero (GP3), Jakeson Caouette (F4), Sarah Moore (LMP3) and Maciej Marcinkiewicz (GT4) shared the car at Motorland.
Team Virage has entered both of its Ligier LMP3 cars into the full V de V Series, with Enqvist, Blicharski and Romecki running in the Racing for Poland by Virage entry. Single-seater racers Javier Cobian and Jakeson Caouette, and an as-yet-unnamed third driver will compete in the Team Virage car.
The team is also hoping to run a single-car entry in the European Le Mans Series’ LMP3 class, and is evaluating a number of interested potential drivers.
Philippe Gautheron, said:
“It has been a positive test programme for us. Both cars ran perfectly and we are really happy with their competitiveness. While experienced drivers such as Fontana and Falchero gave us excellent feedback on our setup, we were satisfied with the performance achieved by the younger and less experienced drivers, who were able to set very competitive lap times. We are impatient to start the first race of the V de V season at Barcelona in one week.”
