Friday was a busy day of running for the Le Mans Cup drivers. With the sun out in France, the drivers could start learning the track in dry conditions and building their pace. The #59 car put in a strong performance during FP2 and placed the car in P2 in the last session of the day
Jamie Falvey was able to set a lap time during Saturday’s qualifying that would put him on the front row for the evening race. Oscar Bittar was able to put in a strong lap, placing him P5. The race was intense, with several close battles for both cars. Unfortunately, the race came to an end for the #59 car after a contact with a lapped GT caused heavy damage and a retirement. However, the #44 car showed very fast pace and led for a majority of the race. After a hard battle, the car had to give up the position and finished P2, marking the first podium of the season for Jamie and Mihnea and bringing home some vital points for the team.
The cars will be back between the 13th and 15th of July for Road to Le Mans.
